Possible Signs of Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders

  • Drooling

  • Open mouth breathing

Possible Causes of an Orofacial Myofunctional Disorder

  • Prolonged oral habits (thumb sucking, pacifier use, etc.)

  • Enlarged tonsils and adenoids

  • Deviated septum 

  • Enlarged nasal turbinates 

  • Tethered oral tissues (tongue, lip, and cheek ties)

  • High or narrow palate

Thumbs Up! is a 30-day program for oral habit elimination. It incorporates behavioral modification and utilizes a positive reinforcement to eliminate oral habits.

Tiny Tongue Tips

Tiny Tongue Tips is a fantastic play-based and early intervention OMT program. It promotes proper oral and facial postures at rest, during speech, and while swallowing in children. Additionally, it aims to reestablish nasal breathing.

Tongue Tips

This OMT program is for ages 8+ (including adults!). This program teaches proper orofacial resting posture and addresses oral and facial postures and muscle function in sleeping, swallowing, and breathing.
